CULTURAL EVENTS
EXCURSIONS

A summer getaway to share, thrive, and create memories

During the summer break, an excursion is organized with a dual objective: to strengthen family and friendship ties, while promoting personal growth. This outing aims to cultivate team spirit, solidarity, and mutual trust among participants. A single rule guides this experience: adopt a caring attitude toward others, thus ensuring collective satisfaction during this shared adventure.

Kibuti: varied activities for all tastes

The Kibuti association offers outings tailored to everyone's interests, with outdoor activities in exceptional locations across Quebec and Ontario. Parks, beaches, water slides, and water sports—every year, these getaways leave unforgettable memories, especially for children. Among our top destinations:

  • An unforgettable cruise in the Thousand Islands, between Ontario and New York State.

  • Exploring Mont-Tremblant Park, a picturesque jewel of Quebec.

  • A relaxing day at the Milles Roches beach and picnic area (Morrisburg, Ontario).

  • Varied excursions in renowned parks and lakes: Lake Leamy, Lake Simon, Lake Beauchamp, Lake St-Jean, Lake Philippe, Gatineau Park, Domaine Mackenzie, Sandbanks Beach (Belleville), and many others.

Moments of conviviality and pleasure

Our activities combine relaxation and entertainment: swimming, hiking, impromptu soccer matches... The atmosphere is always livened up by a potluck meal where everyone contributes a dish to enjoy together. On the menu: Canadian buffet, African and Congolese specialties, not to mention a selection of fruits and refreshing drinks. An enriching experience, where joy and camaraderie are the order of the day!

CONFERENCES

The Kibuti association: key support for immigrants

From time to time, Kibuti organizes conferences open to all immigrants, regardless of their origin. The goal? To equip them and raise their awareness of the complex challenges of integration, particularly access to employment—a determining factor in the success of their migration project.

But the reality goes far beyond simple professional difficulties. Arriving in a new country triggers a mixture of hopes and doubts. After the euphoria of the first few months, it's time to confront the obstacles of everyday life: loss of bearings, culture shock, and constant dilemmas.

How can one reconcile adaptation with preserving one's roots? How can one find a job quickly while aiming for a fulfilling career? Often, immigrants must scale back their ambitions, abandoning the dream of a position equivalent to the one they held in their home country.

Practical workshops to boost employability

To help newcomers overcome these challenges, Kibuti offers workshops led by employment experts from the National Capital Region. These training sessions aim to provide participants with concrete tools to successfully navigate the Canadian job market.

On the program:

  • Job Search Strategies – Where to Look? How to Target the Right Opportunities?

  • Writing a suitable CV – Highlighting your skills according to local standards.

  • Mastering the Job Interview – Tips to Impress Recruiters

  • Professional Networking – How to Build an Effective Network.

  • Recognition of prior learning – Promote your academic career and international experience.

  • Diversity and Equity in the Workplace – Understanding Your Rights and Employer Expectations.

Thanks to these workshops, Kibuti offers much more than advice: a real launching pad for successful professional integration.

BENEFIT DINNERS / SUPPERS

Benefit dinners and suppers: Solidarity and education at the heart of our mission
Each year, Kibuti organizes fundraising dinners and suppers, community events that combine conviviality and commitment. These gatherings raise funds to support two major causes:

  • Aid to schools in Kongo Central to improve learning conditions.

  • The awarding of scholarships to talented young people facing financial difficulties, to give them a chance to succeed.

Thanks to your generosity, we contribute directly to the academic development of these students and to building a better future.

A varied program for all ages
In addition to our regular activities, we offer a series of sociocultural and educational workshops for both youth and adults. Our themes include:

✅ Integration and challenges of immigrants
✅ Family life and adaptation to Canadian society

✅ Relationships and couple life
✅ Preparing for retirement (workshops for seniors)
✅ Academic success and guidance for young people
✅ Marriage preparation
✅ Learning Lingala/Kikongo and Kongo history (to preserve our roots)

Partnerships and outreach
To maximize our impact, we will strengthen our collaborations with:

  • Local organizations in the National Capital Region.

  • Diplomatic authorities (in Canada and abroad) to increase our visibility.

We will also update our website to better promote our actions and our home province.

Together, let's build the future!
