Membership Categories

The Kibuti Association is composed of:
  • Main members
  • Associate members
  • Supporting Members

The following are members:
Any adult from the Kongo-Central province, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or gender, who agrees to abide by the statutes and regulations of Kibuti, may become a member. This category also includes the spouse of a principal member from a province other than Kongo-Central or a nation other than the Democratic Republic of Congo, as long as their union remains in force, except in the event of death.
However, a set of provisions and regulations of the statute governs the operation of Kibuti and sets out the fundamental guarantees (rights and obligations) granted to members.

a) Principal members are those who demonstrate diligence, energy and a spirit of sacrifice in achieving the ideals of the Association and who are in good standing with their monthly and special contributions. Each active member has one vote;

b) Associate members are those who are nationals of a region of the world other than Kongo Central, bound by civil/religious marriage or a common-law union of more than two years to a principal member of Kibuti. The status of associate member is extinguished by the act of divorce of the marriage binding the associate member to the principal member. Every associate member is eligible for any office within the association, with the exception of: president, vice-president, treasurer and vice-treasurer. Apart from these statutory limitations, associate members are subject, without prejudice, to the same rights and obligations as principal members.

c) Supporting members are those who have contributed one or more times to the success of the Association. Supporting members do not have the right to vote.
